That's correct! 25 years ago today, Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryu to Hikari no Tsurugi, the first game in the long-running Fire Emblem tactical rpg series was released!
back then, Marth looked like this:

...it was a simpler time.
and despite 25 years of ups and downs, the series is still chugging along today, with the newest entry: Fire Emblem if, scheduled for a Japanese release this year and a western release in (hopefully early) 2016! There's also a bunch of stuff happening in Japan this year, like a card game and an anniversary concert, that we won't ever see a hint of. Yay.
