Alternately, I DREAMED A DREAM IN STABS GONE BYYYYYYYYYYY
I know that's a different revolution but this one doesn't have any musicals about it so shut up!
Assassin's Creed: Rogue is out for last-gen consoles! It's the mechanics of Black Flag plus a setting that's more like (and in some cases overlaps with) the environs of AC3. It concerns Shay Patrick Cormac, the most Irish man in the world, as he turns his back on an Assassin order that he feels he can no longer serve. It's short on story missions but HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE in side quests and junk, but what it does with the story is some interesting stuff that needed to be addressed sooner or later.

Unity is also out! Only for those Richie Richersons with next-gen systems. I haven't played it yet but it's been marred by hella technical difficulties (unless you're lucky) and there are widely varying opinions of the quality of its story and characters, in other words, it's an Assassin's Creed game. At the very least it sounds like it's trying some ambitious things, even if it's falling short. You're an Assassin who loves a Templar and I guess someone killed your dad and... I'm not sure but just make sure you get your franchise of cafes lookin' all swank and French, okay?
